Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School
Lucca, Palazzo Guinigi
8 May – 6 June 2014
OPENING THURSDAY 8 MAY AT 6 PM
Le Arti Orafe continues its collaboration with FIORGEN Onlus by participating in the events organized by the Fiorgen Foundation at Palazzo Guinigi in Lucca this spring with the exhibition SILENZIO, OLTRE LA FORMA, DENTRO IL TEMPO (Silence, beyond the Form, within Time).
From 8 May to 6 June the sculptures in marble, plexiglass, iron, steel and gold by Annamaria Zanella and Renzo Pasquale, exponents of the Padua School of jewellery known all over the world, together with the photographs by the German artist Inea Gukema-Augstein, from which the works by Zanella and Pasquale draw inspiration and which immortalize the imposing size and mysticism of the stones transformed into architectural constructions in ancient times, will enliven the medieval halls of Palazzo Guinigi.
To enhance the event in Lucca there is an important selection of jewellery by the two artists Zanella and Pasquale, who, with innovative expressive and formal research, produce transgressive experiments with poor or improbable materials, or recover the harmonic cleanliness of pure geometry to create works of jewellery rendered precious by their uniqueness and by the creative and manual gesture they express.
The jewellery will be flanked by works by 5 young jeweller-artists selected from the participants, from 2008 to 2012, in the competition dedicated to young designers, PREZIOSA YOUNG, part of the exhibition project PREZIOSA, which involves the leading figures in international jewellery. The 5 artists chosen for this retrospective of PREZIOSA YOUNG are: Daniel Di Caprio, Arata Fuchi, Adam Grinovich, Dana Hakim and Hanna Hedman.
